yep... they do last a long time... but your local machine shop cant rebuild
em. Suposedly shops have tried, and even with tight tolerances, the "cam"
gets stuck in one profile and then your honda is either a regular gutless
honda with no top end... or a full fledged racing honda with no low end.
VTEC is just the
start of the possibilities of variable cam technology. BMW (and others) are
working on camless, computer run, engines. In the words of my engineer
grandfather "It's too complicated, It'll never work" And sometimes I agree.
