Well, I now know what magnafluxing is. Unfortunately, I saw the results on
Miss Marple's original head. There is a crack between the intake and
exhaust valve on #4. I also need seats all around.

That's where he stopped while waiting for me to phone him, but I got him to
wing an estimate on how the cylinder ( sleeve )walls are and he's guessing
another .020 over ( for a total of .040 over ). That doesn't really appeal
to me on a thin flange block. Resleeving is approx. $550 cdn. I'll have to
weigh the pros and cons.

He said that he will finish spec'ing it out and let me know by the end of
the week.

Then I have to decide, while on the last legs of my employment, whether to
go ahead or stick it back in my garage and glance at it every once in a
while in passing again.

BTW, does anyone have any info on a Smiths Speedo drive that connects to a
gearbox. The part number on it is: "BG2401/00". The bugeye owner is
interested in knowing what it was produced for. The part with this part
number came off his gearbox, but he cannot find another part with this
number on it.
