I am preparing to bring the engine of TS71101L to life. It was rebuilt by
the PO in 1991 or 92 and has not yet ever been started. All engine bearings
were packed with grease at the time of rebuild. I have poured oil into the
sparkplug holes and the engine turns freely with the crank. The engine,
tranny, diff and hydraulics have been rebuilt and stored dry, lo these many
years. I am seeking some discussion and input regarding start up procedures
for the engine. Particularly lubrication.
What kind, weight oil to start ? What to do to insure the oil pressure
comes up quickly? Will spinning the engine, no spark plugs installed, with
the starter motor pump any oil into the oil galleys of the engine?
First change how soon?
Second change how soon?

Any other cautions, suggestions welcome.
