Hi guys
Joe is right SAAB used Triumph engines and did not have nay problem with
them. We were working our B*********s off trying to keep TR7 customers happy
with engine problems, yet the SAAB 99 had the same engines and none of the
problems! In those days there was a lot of local garage rivalry and we were
losing to the SAAB guys big time!!! We did win in the end when SAAB wanted
to demo the 5 mph impact bumpers against a lamppost, well they must have
been doing 6mph when they hit it because.... Ok maybe another time! <grin>

Let's clarify this particular notion. The similarities between the SAAB
engine and the Triumph equivalent are not by chance. But SAAB
bought the Triumph design, not vice-versa. So in reality, it is the SAAB
that has the Triumph engine.
