Listers,

I am seeking confirmation of the change-over point the the closed circuit
breather system on a TR4. AFAIK the change to Strombergs occurred at
CT21471E, I assume that the open breather system then continued for a short
time until the closed system appeared (the system that fed back into the
carbs through a 'Y' tube).

The TRA guide to TR4/4As states that the change to the closed system that
fed back through a 'Y' tube occurred at CT23594E. My car's original engine
is CT23332E (comm no. CT23641 O), it is still in the car and it has the 'Y'
tube set up, I am almost certain that it is the original set up for this
engine.

Piggot, at p75, seems to state that the change to the 'Y' tube occurred at
CT14233E, which would suggest it occurred when SUs were still fitted?!?!?

The TRA guide also states that at CT23594E the 'oil breather tube' was
eliminated. If that describes the tube at the rear of the engine behind the
oil filter then my car has that too.

Are the change-over points different for Antipodean/RHD TR4s, or is my car
just special? ;-)

Many thanks in advance and sorry about the length,
Michael
