You could totally isolate the neg radio from pos ground and switch the wires
so you can use a modern radio in a pos ground car - but the first defect in
insulation or even by a twitching heater cable contacting your radio box - your
radio can fry. That's my experience.
You might try the Voltage Converter option (adds -24 volts to +12 making for
-12). These units might be rare these days and some sqeal unpleasantly
(installing it in trunk helps).
I had my squealy $18 converter located in the trunk and a flip switch at OD
switch postition - it worked fine 'till car got taken apart.
ps; in the 70's you could buy cheap enough radios with pos/neg switch right
on the back of the radio!

I'm quite the dunce when it comes to anything electrical, so this may be a
stupid question. Are there any options for hooking up a modern car stereo
in my (currently) positive ground TR4 other than changing it to a negative
ground configuration? I don't suppose there are any car stereo
manufacturers making systems specifically for cars with a positive ground
electrical system are there?
