IMO the first step is to verify that your choke linkage is working properly.
Pull the knob out about 1/2 way, and verify that both jets have been pulled
down by the same amount.  Also check that the fast idle cam has moved and is
holding the throttles open.

Next I'd be wondering if the float bowls are leaking and going dry while the
car is parked.  It's a common problem with H6 carbs IMO, I find that the
bowl mounts have to be replaced every couple of years or so of daily
driving.  After you've gotten the engine running, shut it off and wait for
it to cool, then feel along the bottom of the float bowls.  If you feel
moisture, chances are the bowl mounts are leaking.
