While I agree, the factory manual is ultimately the one to have (I have one) I wouldn't go running out to buy a factory manual until you actually own a Spitfire.

Granted, I'm at altitude (Denver), but a 7.5:1 compression Spitfire should run just fine on 85 octane. I drove my 79 and 76 all through the winter with the "additive" all the time with no ill effects

If I sell my 73 and the buyer does not opt to purchase the J OD trans with the car, it will be available. The OD works, but the tranny is unknown but according to the seller, "It's supposed to work".
