Where are the best connect points for pulling engine and tranny together. I was going to connect to the alternator connection plate on the right side and I don't know what to connect to on the other

The factory used the two studs used to hold the valve cover on. Most prefer the forward-most exhaust manifold stud and the upper right hand side trans bolt. I prefer the latter, but have done it both

Monty: I personally stay away from the shop manual-suggested valve cover bolts for pulling the engine--don't really trust them--, and do indeed use the alternator bolt on one side and the rear exhaus

Yes, it is normal. The seal is effected between the oil seal in the tailshaft of the transmission and the snout on the front of the driveshaft. When the driveshaft is removed, viola! No Seal! This i

The draining transmission oil isn't a problem. (Well, it's a bloody mess to clean up, but it isn't indicative of a problem otherwise.) The rear seal on the transmission actually seals on the outside
