The pre-60K 3A doors definitely have a 'plinth' where the external door handles mount, plus the interior is different than the TR3 doors without external handles, to accommodate the redesigned latch

I was looking at a some TR3A's at the local car show yesterday and thought I saw a slight boss on one of the doors at the handle but then thought it might have been a gasket that got some paint on it

Oops. I guess I left that part out. TS18010L. So it is later than your car but not quite to the TS22xxx numbers. Knowing the "restorer" the way I do it is quite likely that he swapped out some natty

TS18010L is fitted with five rear lights, no boot handle (two carriage key latches), self parking wipers and the small mouth nose piece. It also has the dash panel light switch (no rheostat) and 10"

Not only is it possible but highly likely. If they had any doors without holes they would have drilled them. Adding bosses would require reworking the tooling which could wait until the old tool wore
