You loosen the drivers side (left side) motor mount and jack the engine up a bit with a 2x4 or such between the jack and the oil pan. Doesn't take much but I have never been able to get a stock belt

You must be new. This issue has been a recurring theme. Fitting a fan belt to a TR4 is one of the most frustrrating things you can do on these cars. It is frustrating because it should be so easy. In

There are a couple of styles of fanbelts out there. Some have a smaller depth and serations and will fit more easily in the tight spaces. And since the mechanical load on the belt is not all that muc

IMO, the right solution is to shim up the motor mounts using the same shims the factory used on the TR3. Most cars have lost their original shims over the years, but new ones are available from TRF,
