It's not very often that I've had to turn on the heater fan on my BJ8 but it's proven to be pretty ineffetive whenever the need arises. As I make more and more use of the car it's becoming a problem

The heater fan is a centrifugal device that can only move air in one direction. If the fan was turning backwards it would still force air in the same direction although perhaps not as efficiently. In

Having just rebuilt one of these unless the fan is installed on the mounting bracket backwards (hard to do because of lack of room) having the hoses on the wrong opening is pretty tough. Also when yo

I'll stick to my first reply regarding this fan thing. The power lead and the ground leads will have to be reversed if the car has been changed to negative earth. On the 6 cylinder cars the motor dri

Due respect Rich, the Healey heater blower motor is a permanent magnet motor - doesn't care about polarity. I have converted at least a half dozen Healeys to NEG ground, including my present two, wi

Lastly, the fan motor is 12 volt. More juice to the motor??? I don't think so. Maybe a replacement motor with higher RPM rating would satisfy the "problem". Rich Chrysler FYI here is the article, htt

Earl, there's been a misunderstanding somewhere -- permanent magnet DC motors do reverse rotation with polarity. As has been pointed, because it's a centrifugal blower, it will move air regardless of
