Both my wife and I left foot brake most of the time on course.
We currently have a Corvette and Supra (both 6-speeds).
There is no consensus whether left foot braking is better or
worse than right foot braking. There are national champions
on both sides of the debate. I think the advantages to left foot
braking are smoother and quicker transitions to and from
braking. The disadvantages are less pedal sensitivity with
the left foot (we spend a lifetime learning to brake with our
right) and the sometimes confusing gas/brake/downsift issues
where you have to swich to right foot braking to downshift
then switch back again. On more than one occassion I've
tried to brake with the clutch and tried to shift with the brake -
neither works very well :-).
Left foot braking is a good tool to add to your toolbox - you
don't have to use it all the time, but its nice to have when
you can take advantage of it.
