I don't know about you but I fully believe a points system can work and will
allow equalizing of many cars between classes, for example, a neon starts
off in class D or D Stock and the owner adds a updated coil over system
this costs him 25 points moving him up a class to compete with stock MR2's,
and even better you can equalize cars out by making them High or low in the
points scale, say for example, OK a Miata and A Z3 1.9 are in the same
class, I agree with that. but in our current class structure the Z3 will
never be competitive (a harsh reality I live with every weekend) but in this
*NEW* class structure, The Z3 has a chance, it is classed in the same
bracket, but 15 points less, so the owner can add camber plates, for 5
points, and replacement springs for 10 points, and he is now = in points to
the miata, and equal in potential performance, or if he chooses to he can
add more changes and move up to the next class, so there is no more, Oh I'm
in SP now so I need to do EVERYTHING to be competitive... there will be a
constant progression up the ranks, and a totally worked car can make it to
mod where say a FF starts out.
I have given this many nights of thought and I believe it can and will work,
much better then the expensive, archaic system we currently have in place.
and it is MUCH more street friendly
