Its not going to cause a short. I have been using this stuff for about 20 years 
with no failures. The dielectric grease has micro particles of iron filings in 
it to conduct electricity. Works great on battery posts/cables, too. I will 
probably give you a call either Fri. night or Sat morn about meeting with you.

I'm afraid it might cause a dead Short(Not you Byron) in this application. 
Anybody
have any ideas? On this one? Or is the other option to rewire the trailer  
twice a 
year?

I seem to have to do it to the C-Mod cars anyway! Whats a few hours for the 
trailer?
