I thought that I would interject something here for those on the list. The
Solo II Nationals contract with Forbes Field ends next year I believe. I do
know that the Kansas Region and the Kansas City Region of the SCCA are in
negotiations with the Kansas Speedway Corporation on having a paved area set
up away from the new race track to be leased by the clubs for events. If
this works out, then the site would be available by the year 2000 or 2001 for
Nationals. The regions here would also be able to host a National Tour and a
Pro Solo.
Part of the deal would also give the clubs right to sublease the site out to
other Car clubs when an event at the track is not in progress. We will keep
all posted on what is learned in the days ahead.
