I have two incidents on video from Dixie Region events. In one, a Lumina Z34
driven by Guy Matthews puts front and rear wheels right on a slalom cone, I
mean creamed it, and it flies up in the air behind the car and lands upright in
the box. The second one is a Dodge Omni GLH turbo driven by Bill Desautel, who
cooked the last turn before the finish and went wide, into a cone wall,
knocking down one cone. He had stopped, and when he backed up, the bumper
snagged the base of the cone and pulled it back up. It didn't even need to be
recentered in the box!

This past weekend at the Harrisburg Pro Solo, I witnessed one of the
most astounding pylon tricks I've ever seen.

Alan Sheidler, in his F125 shifter kart, got a pointer cone to stand up
without incurring any pylon penalties or going off course. This
happened during the challenge. The cone in question was the one on
the driver's right, after you pass through the crossover the first
time -- the one that pinched you inwards as you entered the big 180.

Has anyone else ever seen someone get a pointer to stand up without
incurring penalties?

My congratulations to Alan.

Mark
