Myself, I take the above with a grain of salt. Miatas are, at best,
difficult to drive in the wet. At worst, they are scary; I almost spun mine
on an on-ramp during a light rain.
Not to impugn Mr. Molleker's abilities as a driver, but the fact that he was
that close to Alan's times may be due in part to the Miata's nature as a bad
rain car.
