You mean like the Showroom Stock Club Racers do??

I really don't think we to adopt this particular rule. Face it folks, each
new generation of cars is better than the last. That's evolution. Even
within each new generation there some cars that are better suited for Solo2
events than the others.

In the summer of '98 I decided to start regularly participating in Solo2
events. My POS Hyundai was on it's last legs and I needed a new car so I
did a little homework to find a competitive car that I could afford. I came
up with the Neon over a Miata from a sheer practicality standpoint. I dare
anybody to stuff 6 tires and all the associated gear necessary for a weekend
Solo event into a Miata.

Anyway, through a lack of knowledge I managed to pick the wrong model of
Neon. DOH!!! Instead of the stripped down ACR model I chose the "street"
version, the R/T. It has the exact same drivetrain, suspension and brake
package as the ACRs (except for the Konis and the 10mm thick "severe duty"
front hubs) but weighs more due to more options. I have a porky Neon at
2560#. Not counting the driver of course. ;^)

Does this mean that I should get my "uncompetitive" car reclassed into an
easier/slower class?? NO!!!

I simply made a bad choice and now must deal with it. That's the breaks.
There are some cars that will never be "the" car to have in any class. Some
cars are turds. Always have been and always will be including IMO the 4
banger Fieros. Geez, sometimes life just ain't fair. Get over it.
ESPECIALLY with 10+ year old Stock Class cars. That's what the ST and SP
classes are for.

Kinda like when SS club racing cars get too old they either get retired from
racing or built into IT or Production cars. Again, evolution at its finest.

Maybe Darwin was right.

That's all I have to say about that.
