Jean, I think the reason for this was the extraordinary events of the first
heat on saturday. There were A LOT of problems with bogus call for cones
and DNFs, missed calls, etc... Jason's phatom cone occured during this
heat. Also, the video tape had audio from the announcer that indicated it
was his third run and a clear view of the corner station that reported the
cone.
It was so bad that there was a special MANDATORY meeting for first heat
workers sunday morning to try and address the problem.
