Ben,

I don't think I can comment a whole lot on the course design since I was just
trying to keep the car pointed straight and away from cones the whole time.
Some of that was my car (and me of course) and some of it was having trouble
getting traction while in the air. I would have needed probably 3 more tries
to hit a good run.

I think alot of us are falling prey to the fact that with so much room at 3COM,
why not build a huge fast course? This would be great if the surface was
smooth, but that's never going to be the case at 3COM, no matter which way you
lay things out.

If I were to critique the course I would have shortened up some of the
"straights" and tightened up a few sections to keep the speeds down. I think
AS cars doing ~70mph is probably too fast for that lot. Other than that, the
course elements were alot of fun. Put that course at Mather or McClellan and
it would have been fine even at the high speeds.

As far as cars breaking, I know both Phil and Derek broke endlink-to-strut
brackets, a common weakpoint on MR2's. This is understandable considering the
bumpy lot, but I think a fast course will only exaggerate the problem. Running
SP or higher prepped cars out there must be brutal.

Don't take the above as anything negative, Ben. I think it was a fun course
design, but you're cursed by the site. I hope you come up with something as
good at Stockton.
