The regular/leaded/additive topic surfaces with
some regularity on the list. Which is OK.
I use a lead substitute in the fuel for my 1949
Allis-Chalmers (low-octane no-lead) and our
roadster (high-octane no-lead). Some list
members have opined that such additives are
just a waste of money. Well, maybe.
If the amount of money spent on additives were
a worry, we wouldn't have either the roadster
or the Allis.
Does anybody know of definitive, impartial
tests involving valve seats on old engines and
recent types of gasoline?
