I'd look into the cause of overheating 1st. Is your car running lean?
Have you flushed the radiator and block recently? Unless you get to the
root cause of the problem, any fan upgrade is just putting a band aid on
it.

We have several members in las vegas who routinely run their Healeys in
summer here with the original stock fans. The best cooling investment
you can make is to re-core your radiator with a modern core, I have done
3 healey's, a triumph and 2 morgans and have seen significant
improvements in operating temperatures and temperature stability. My
radiator guy does Healeys for $275.

That said, the Texas cooler and flexalite fans move significantly more
air than the stock fan. Per a lengthy conversation with Moss last week,
the flexalite fans are available at your local Napa, the only thing
special about Moss's flexalite was a "kit" including spacers (which
you can buy at any home depot and modify to the correct length).

They indicated that the Texas Cooler re-mfg. was currently being tested,
and that it was a minimum of 3-6 months out.

Hi list,

My first request for assistance.

I have a friend of a friend who is having overheating problems with his
BJ8 down here which is fitted with the original fan blades.

Have recommended that he fits a Texas Kooler 6 blade fan similar to the
unit fitted to my car which works a treat even in 100 F temperatures.

Unfortunately these are no longer available from the NTAHC but their
website indicates that Moss Motors are remanufacturing these great fans.
A check on the Moss Motors website indicates that the fans are not
available.

Does any one have a Texas Kooler stashed away some where that they are
not using and they may be prepared to part with if so could you please
advise off list or alternatively any recommendations re a suitable
alternative fan would be appreciated.

Regards from down under.
