Couple of comments on this interesting thread -

It's been said many times that many of today's late teens/early 20's kinds
are into the sport-compact scene. What I find interesting about the cars I
see locally (and there ARE a lot) is that very few of them have anything
done to them that is mechanical in nature. Clear-lensed lights all around,
neon lights underneath, coffee-can exhaust tips, black windows, glowing
windshield-washer jets, quintuple, colored wipers, etc... But other than
maybe a K&N-type 'cold' air intake, nothing really mechanical. Our
cars require some mechanical knowledge/work which would definitely cut
into cruising time...

A 'younger generation' type on this list was pretty well abused last month
- I don't even recall the topic. That's not really a way to convince the
younger generation, is it?

There are a couple of local clubs in NJ, one MG-based, one British
car-based. I have never seen their events advertised in local papers or
the state-wide NJ Star-Ledger - maybe I missed them - but the local
Corvette club has a show this coming Sunday, and it's in ALL the papers,
flyers have been given out at local repair garages, and I even saw a
notice on the community-access television station...

In the last couple of weeks, either on this list or the Yahoo group to
which many of us also belong, there were a couple of new posters that
seemed fairly young. Both were looking to see what types of V6 - V8
engines would fit in the B... I'm not sure whether to be encouraged or
discouraged by this!

No driving this week-end, a total wash-out here in NJ... But we certainly
need the rain, and I got my tools cleaned up from the shock link
replacement odyssey, so not a total loss!
