When I think of electronic ignition, I think of more advances than just 
electronic trigger systems like the pertronix.  It wouldn't make sense on 
an MG, because spares are cheap and plentiful, but on my 1969 porsche 
(where the marelli distributor points and rotor were NLA for 10 years, and 
approaching $200/set on e-bay), I installed a crank trigger system, and a 
set of advance adjustible coil packs.  That system is really nice.  There 
are a few more things I'd like to be able to adjust on the advance curve, 
but it the important thing is that it is super accurate and consistant 
based on crank speed (with no springs or weights, etc.).  I've seen them 
for MGs, but they are pretty expensive.   Just thought I throw that out to 
the group on the topic.
