125-135 Hp isn't that hard to achieve with the 1300 or 1500 motor (heck event
he 1147 for that matter). I'd say a well prepped F-prod Spridget 1500 or
Spit 1300/1500 needs to put out at least 150 to be competetive. Most cars
are in the 14:1 range with well over .500 lift. I would say 160-170 isn't
out of range for the top notch guys (read Joe Huffaker Jr.) I would think
that the guys running G-Prod with the 1147 need to be putting out at least
140 Hp to contend. I don't think anyone lost a motor this year, but lots of
rear ends and transmissions.
