According to the Herald/Spitfire factory workshop manual, one makes lifting
brackets to replace those for the bonnet catches. Then one attaches one's
"lifting tackle" to those two points and to "the safety harness eyebolts
adjacent
to the rear wheel arches."

Alternative method: find two friends. Station one on each rear wheel arch
lip, and station yourself somewhere in front of the bulkhead. On the count of
three, everyone lifts. ;-)

A bare Spitfire tub isn't all that heavy!

*Mrs Irrelevant: Oh, is it a jet?
*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
 Triumph Herald engine with wings.
