My car is a daily driver, but a Morris. My M/cyl goes about 10 years
between overhaul or replace. Conservatively 150,000 miles. The rear
brakes, which are the same as bug eye, go nearly the same, but those are
NOT EVER worth rebuilding. Just get new ones and new boots. The discs are
Spridget and I replaced the calipers for the first time about 6 months ago.
The old ones were from a junk yard and were on my car for not quite 25
years. I flush the system about every 3 years and when I replace pads in
the front, I never push the fluid back to the m/cyl when I retract the
pistons. It goes out the bleeder. I use castrol LMA all the time. Rotors
get replaced when they start to go undersize or warped. Every 5 to 7
years. Wheel bearings never get repacked, just use them up and they go
easily 5 to 7 years. My brake system is always at the ready and I have a
lot of confidence in this single system.
