After reading through the numerous replies on this subject, seems like a
crucial point has been overloked regarding pistons. The criteria below
(pits, scores, or burns) probably is of little consequence if the piston
lands are worn and beyond tolerance. Was this taken into consideration
before new rings were installed? What about wrist pins?
