a) An common upgrade for the TR3 fan used to be the fan from a Volvo 122. 
 The 122 had Volvo's B-18 engine.
b) I'm pretty sure the fan on some early Volvo 144's had a viscous clutch. 
 The 144 engine was a B-20 which was essentially a bored B-18.

So, maybe a & b suggest a possibility.  But I don't know and I don't have a 
B-20 engine sitting around to try it.
