Martin and other Listers,

I checked all of the labels on several brands of brake cleaner and
found that everyone on the list was correct! It definitly is not
intended for use on "seals, plastic or paint".

I'm not sure I want "methyl spirits" or alcohol in the brake cylinders
either, what with the DOT 5. I think I will just flush the lines with
the BrakeKleen, blow them completely dry. With the cost of the
rebuild kits being so reasonable, I will just rebuild all of the brake
system, that's just the two front calipers and the rear wheel cylinder
kits that I will have to buy. Then fill with the DOT 5 and bleed the
system.

I'll keep you informed.
