I have used Goodridge braided hoses on two cars for about five years
with no problems. One of the cars is used for minor rallies and does see
a lot of dust, grit and water.

The hoses are inspected on a regular basis and so far I am happy with
their condition but I would make the following suggestion.

As the brake fluid in the system should be changed regularly then the
hoses could be serviced at the same time.

The major cost of Braided hoses is in the end fittings. These are reusable
and could be fitted with new hose on a regular basis.
Before someone says what about pressure testing as far as I know brake
hoses are not individually tested, presumably manufacturers use statistical
testing.

Making up steel braided hoses as has been said is very easy with no
special tools or techniques required. My local supplier has a young lad make
up hoses over the counter, although I am not to happy about that.

Re use of hose end fittings is common practice in the light aviation industry
and I have no wish to return to the old days of rubber hoses.
