I recently decided to apply some TLC to my TR3, last year I spent all my
time restoring Tessi the Sports 6 and I had neglected her. One of the things
I needed to do was to solve the oil leak at the OD, which turns out to be a
warped adapter plate. I also restored the gear set endplay; I replaced
syncro's and gave the transmission a complete rework.

After finishing the gearbox, I removed my center gauge console and replaced
it with a wrinkle powder coated panel. (Thank you Fred) It looks great.
While I had the gauges out I cleaned each gauge and polished the glass and
chrome.

While the car is up on jacks I decided to clean the front suspension and
grease everything, I removed the hubs and repacked the wheel bearings, One
of the things I had encountered was that the left front bearing had
discolored rollers, the bearing would spin freely and felt tight, however it
had a the discoloration. I had a spare front wheel kit so I replaced it.

I think I may have had the hubs too loose, for I had movement when I placed
my hands at the top and bottom of the wheel and would rock it.

Have any of you had bearing do this? And do you think the bearing is shot
and what might have caused the problem?

Thanks

Ronnie
