Insulation is key. I used Reflectix, a 3M product found in home stores in the US. It's bubble wrap that's been coated with mylar. Put it under the carpet, everywhere (replace the jute underlayment with this). Insulate the gearbox cover. Make sure that the gasket between the gearbox cover and the body is intact. Also consider getting the exhaust manifold/header coated with something like Jet-Hot, to keep more of the exhaust heat out of the engine compartment. |
