IMHO, today in the USA, your best bet at even coming somewhat close to
breaking even would be a TR2 or 3.   But I can't say that I would consider
restoring any Triumph (much less an MG) a "good investment".  If you don't
love the car enough that you don't really care what it costs, then buy some
old POS Toyota to drive, and put the difference in the bank.
