i honestly think the two are contradictory.  your best bet is to find a car 
(mg, healey, triumph, etc) which has been well restored.  take good care of 
it and it will take good care of you.  the less you spend on a car up front, 
the more you will have to fix, repair, replace.


 However,  if I picked another Triumph or say an MG to work on, which
