The desulfate mode only kicks in when the battery is deeply discharged.=C2=
=A0 With these new batteries a deep discharge condition will make the batte=
ry suspect.=C2=A0 They don't tolerate this well at all.

My only issue was with a Motorcycle battery.=C2=A0=C2=A0 I think the charge=
r I was using was trying too hard to desulfate and killed the battery (only=
2 years old).=C2=A0 Since then I only plug in the bike for a few days each=
month.=C2=A0 All the rest I have left plugged in for long periods of time =
without issue.=C2=A0 My chargers are "smart" but not so smart that they wil=
l tell me a battery is bad.=C2=A0 That being said, I have had a few batteri=
es go bad in the past few years.=C2=A0 The last few I have bought for vario=
us vehicles only seem to last about two years.=C2=A0 I tried expensive ones=
and cheap ones, none seem to make it past 24 months.=C2=A0 It may be just =
that the batteries being sold these days are junk.=C2=A0 The one in my Spit=
fire is almost 10 years old and still starts the car every time.
