One of the benefits of a Pickup truck is that besides being a tow unit
it also has so many other uses....

Yet, if you still are interested in just a "tow" unit -consider a 23'
motorhome. Typically, these have the commercial grade big block
motors (stronger bottom end) and tow very well. Plus it has a whole
host of features that make it attractive..

The payments (mortgage -actually) are deductible as a 2nd home. And
it is amortized for 15 years typically.

It has all the amenities that make racing that much more civilized
     and eventually, cheaper.

You can get a used unit pretty inexpensively. As a matter of fact the
price for a smallish unit is similar to a crewcab with all the bells
and whistles.. We once had a Ford F350 crewcab dually diesel and gave
it up for a Winnebago Brave 23' (they were about the same legnth).
The Brave was quieter, smoother and had so much more. Problem is that
once you are at the "show" you are sort of stuck.
