One other interesting point I'll bet few of you think about.
Track rental and race expense demands full fields to cover the costs.
My SCCA Region just completed a double regional at Mid Ohio. Our
expense for the 2 days was well over $53,000.
Track rental was $28,000, Sanction/insurance was $10,500, administration
(entry forms, etc.) $2,500, worker lunches $1,200, trophies $3,700 and
the Saturday night worker/diver party was $7,500.
Takes a full field to pay for the play.
Now I know there are cheaper tracks, cheaper parties, cheaper trophies,
but if you want to play at Mid Ohio, or Road America, better let all the
cars you can compete.
