I disagree, less classes would make this sport, which is already very tough, but
more competitive, people like competitiveness, thats were most roots are from
and always will be. for example.
This happened this year at Bonneville,
Team Amo bumped their own record to 191.530 mph, Jason McVicar came into the
MPS-F class and bumped the record to 191.880 mph. If that would not have
happened we would have packed up and came home. But since he did, we did out of
competitivness "Scrap" another motor together and run. And that is why we are
coming to WOS which we never have been before. Competivness is like a disease, a
very bad one. Joe and I are both diseased with it, thats why we are doing
whatever possible to get there next month.
You dont think that would draw people in? Less classes = more competitevness.,
I'm not saying that is the answer. Hell being on the salt is just enough, but
personally I would rather compete against some else during the event and not
black and white. SO basically if the sport was more competitive maybe it would
draw more of a crowd? That is a question and only a opinion, we all look for a
way to bring new comers to the sport, could this be the answer? Everybody keeps
speaking of the next generation to keep the sport alive, if the sport starts to
die, would this or could it be the answer?
Maybe the sport is growing and no questions or answers are needed, I think this
may have been the biggest event ever? SCTA-BNI any stats on this? or is it in a
decline?
