Maybe there would be some value in a race on concrete somewhere in the USA
(central not completely necessary) similar to the ECTA with the same rules
and the same distance so standardization of records could be established.
Drag racing began the same way, but 1/4 mile was chosen as the most
practical distance for starting and stopping on most airfields at a time
when Bonneville first ran with relatively unlimited distance.  Maybe a
longer runway could be found to allow a 1-mile run, but it would only be
good if it was a standardized record achievement.  This is not to mention
the huge organizational effort it would take on the part of a large group of
racers to get it going.  Maybe there is a group of street racers outside of
this group that would want to run just to see how fast they could go
(runwhachabrung) similar to the early days of landspeed and drag racing.
