I agree.  But look up the history of the pledge.  It was originated by the
socialist Francis Bellamy.  Time for a new pledge, one that specifies
allegiance to the Constitution, not to the flag which represents it.  A
pledge not written by a socialist with the intention of undermining the
education of our youth.  A pledge to keep your hands to yourself and require
the same from the government.  A pledge which does not offend the believers
and non-believers alike.  A pledge to stand guard for the cause of liberty.
Those that choose to not recite the pledge will be welcome, but should not
be relied upon when the chips are down.
