what you say here about the NASCAR guys turning-down the oil flow for
qualifying is very relevant in 2 ways, I think:

-- the dry sump gives you much better CONTROL; that is, you have the option
of changing both flowrates and distribution

-- NASCAR qualifying is like dragracing and like LSR in that it may be worth
it to take some risks (that you wouldn't normally want)-- because the stakes
are high, and the exposure is brief.
