Joe talks real well of a rod called something like "Allstate 275"

Personally after the 7018 I'm not sure of my requirements for 6011... 0r 13
for that matter....

Keep in mind I started this exercise with little or no stick experience so I
wasn't married to a particular rod.... still not.... matter of fact unless I
was working on farm equipment how pretty something is often is of equal
importance to the quality of the weld.... ( never less then but often equal
to)....

Tig is awfully pretty and structurally sound as hell.... thou I can see that
I have a tendency to under cut my welds a bit when I'm working on stuff this
thick... in other words I burn to much of the parent metal in an attempt to
get enough heat in it..... ultimately the weld can be flat but never lower
then the original parts being welded without sacrificing strength.
