Well, speak as you find. I did replace one with an exchange reconditioned
item which leaked again within a year and about 4k miles, but its
replacement has now been on about 10 years and 20k miles. I've had the V8
for 9 years and 65k and one front unit has just started to leak. Rebuilt
items are only as good as someone else's returned core, but at 12 quid a
throw for a rebuilt unit they are cheap enough to get the occasional dud
en-route to a good'un. Incidentally, the PO replaced the V8 rears with
oil-filled Spax which only lasted a couple of years and about 10k
(altogether, not just my ownership) before one of them started leaking and I
replaced with gas-filled. Since then they have been OK, but I'm wondering
if the rear is bouncing more than it used to which is contributing to the
regular breaking of my rear anti-rollbar drop-links.

Question. How do you know when gas-filled dampers have leaked?

PaulH.
