Steve,

As you perceive, most of the contributions you see here are from
the North American owners of fifties and sixties cars. We benefit
from inexpensive Internet connections, so the bias naturally runs
that way. While I enjoy often reading of the solutions these people
find to sort problems in their older cars, the relevance to myself as
the owner of a recent wide-body Plus 8 is minimal.

It would be very useful to me to hear more of the problems, experiences,
and solutions found on the newer cars from both British and Continental
owners. Many have Internet access at the office but seem either too
modest or shy to contribute. While they may share experiences at the
monthly noggin, the "List" never gets to hear about how their local
Morgan Agent managed to sort the car. The reluctance to broadcast
their results here I regard as a great loss. Many "locals" whom I see
responded to your inquiry are regulars here, and singly have provided
extremely valuable insight to me directly during the build of my car.

Perhaps you can encourage more discussion of recent cars and
significantly broaden the appeal of the "Morgan List".

Try to hire the car you think you want to own for a good week or so
and use it in your routine, drive to MMC via Salisbury, Bath, or some
similar route, and try taking a scenic run with ThamesMog or some
other MSCC Centre. Then you may have some concept of whether
a Morgan is for you. (I've done something similar twice with 4/4's
from Bill Wykeham with good results. Likely if I'd been able to
spare the "scratch" for a Plus 8 hire over there, I'd have ended up in
a world of trouble as I barely manage to stay clear of the law here !!!)

Good Hunting,

Willie
