I've done sandblasting (motorcycle frames) with a 10gal 2hp 4.8CFM unit.
It wasn't happy about it, and it didn't give me as much pressure
as something bigger.  But it worked.

Just be careful when buying air tools that you don't get something
that requires much more than your unit puts out.  One thing I have noticed
and maybe other people on the list can confirm is that cheap air tools
require more air than their higher-quality counterparts.
