($5K used vs. $15K new). But guys (like you Phil, remember?) whined and
cried to the SEB about how unfair they were in GS. The cars of old (that
all
the whining was about to make them competitive again) never, ever returned
to
their (pre Conquest / SVO emergence)
competitiveness in this class. All we accomplished with this move were a
few

Yep, I will be the first to admit that I complained about what I felt was
inequities in G Stock back in the early 90's. But I still feel that, at
the time, the SVO and Conquest were in fact overdogs for the class, given
their large tire/wheel/hp/limited slip configurations, when compared to the
skinny tired fwd cars in the class at the time. At least the Probe/Mazda
cars were front wheel drive, and even with the larger wheel/tires, they did
not have limited slip and were subject to the same inside wheel spin as the
remainder of fwd cars in the class. However, I felt that sending those two
cars to BStock would mean their ultimate demise, and that perhaps they
should not have gone there. Of course, the Shelby Turbo's and GLH turbo's
were moved to C Stock at the same time, so my argument was moot anyway.
All I did was "write a letter," as did others.

But, with the addition of the performance model V6 Camaro to G Stock, I
immediately felt like the Conquest/SVO should have been returned to the
class. Now it seems to be a catch-all class, and those cars should be
returned to G Stock. They certainly fit G Stock better than F
Stock...Could they be competitive again in that class? Probably not, or no
more so than the Camaro.
