I must admit, all this bandying about of a $60 license fee caught me up.
That sounded very high for a Pro license (last time I had one it was like
$15 -- but that was in a previous lifetime about 15 years ago).

So I looked it up on the SCCA website. Not far off. $55 is the Pro Solo
license fee. Which still seems high considering my road racing competition
license also is $55. IMHO, solo, even Pro Solo, is supposed to be one of the
more economical of SCCA activities. I think there *should* be a fee for a
Pro Solo License, and series competitors *should* possess one, and being
able to run one event unlicensed is a gift.

But if it costs me, as an example, $180 to run a National race and $90 to do
the Solo II Nationals, and a Pro Solo entry is $55, then if a road racing
competition license costs $55 then a Pro Solo license ought to be around
$25.
