All of this reminds me of this guy who ran a stock
Miata with us in San Francisco. He knowingly put his
Konis on his lowest shock perch settings because he
felt that having to run with "national caliber"
drivers - we had a strong contingent in SFR - was not
fair for regular guys such as himself, who are just
out there to have fun. As if we weren't? It's not like
he didn't know the rules; he simply felt that he
shouldn't have to follow them. It was another local
guy with no nationals aspirations who eventually
protested him, and won, but the reaction of the first
guy was really baffling. If he wasn't angry, he was at
least very disappointed. He felt we took the sport way
too seriously.
